Pembrokeshire Fish Week which begins tomorrow, 28th June, and runs until Sunday, 6th July, is a celebration of fresh local fish, the iconic Pembrokeshire coastline and the important connection and heritage that Pembrokeshire shares with all things maritime.
Listed as the Number 1 Food Festival by the Independent newspaper, Pembrokeshire Fish Week is an annual festival for those who love fish – and those who don’t! With events ranging from cooking demonstrations, coastal foraging, fishing events, beach picnics, boat trips and banquets and barbecues at many restaurants throughout the County, there is simply something for everyone of all ages.
Gourmets will be in their element with the chance to sample everything from the celebration of Pembrokeshire Lobster at Cafe Môr, Freshwater West, whose chef’s will be producing everything from lobster rolls with hot seaweed butter to dressed lobster and frites and shots of la bomba’s topped with fresh lobster from their beach trailer; to fish tapas at Casa Maria in Haverfordwest and The Grove, Narberth’s annual fish week barbecue.
Now in its 15th year, the festival is well-known for its annual cookery Masterclass where celebrity chefs go sea fishing during the day and then transform their catch into delicious dishes in front of a hungry audience at The Torch Theatre. This year celebrity chef, Paul Rankin, will be bringing his unique Irish humour and wit for a lively evening of entertainment as he cooks up a number of delicious fish dishes onstage.
