In 2011 a street in Tenby was officially named as the second sunniest spot in the UK according to official met office data, beating Devon and Cornwall into third and fifth spots.
Earlier this year The Norton in Tenby was named as one of Britain’s smartest streets. Now Tenby has won the ultimate accolade. Its beautiful Harbour Beach has been designated the most beautiful beach in Europe.
The beach beat off competition from all across Europe – including well known resorts in Portugal, Croatia and Italy – to win the top prize.
The honour was bestowed by leading European e-tourist organisation – European Best Destinations who said that Tenby had been chosen for the quality of its water, the beauty of its environment and its reputation among visitors.
Meanwhile Tenby has also been picked as one of the top 30 most beautiful small towns in the world in a new on line best destination list. The resort was only one of two British entries in the list of 30 global gems – including places in China, USA and Iceland – on disctractify.com.
