Legendary folk favourites, Steeleye Span, will be headlining a new festival in Haverfordwest in May.
Formed in 1969, Steeleye Span is one of the most influential names in British music having taken folk music out of small clubs and into the main stream. The band released their latest album in collaboration with Sir Terry Pratchett at the end of 2013 which is based on Pratchett’s novel Wintersmith.
The Festival on May 24th & 25th will be held at Conygar Stadium, Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest and will cater for children and adults alike and will also feature Stramash, Scotland’s leading Celtic Folk Rock Band, Bones from Manchester and Ragsy, Tom Jones’s protégée from The Voice, amongst others. Actor, Charles Dale from Tenby, who stars in Casualty and is an accomplished singer, will be one of the presenters. There will be a craft marquee with stalls selling everything from slate jewellery, hand made chocolates and hobby horses to tee shirts, carvings and food plus a fun fair and everything to make it a very enjoyable event for the whole family. Tickets are available from haverfordwestrockfestival.co.uk.
