Pembrokeshire’s beaches have scored highly once more with 12 of its beaches being awarded the prized Blue Flag status for 2015 and a further 11 being granted the coveted Green Coast Award.
Blue Flag criteria include the highest standard of water quality, environmental education, management, safety and services. The Green Coast award is awarded to those quiet, quaint, hidden gems with high standards of water quality and known for their natural, rural surroundings.
The Blue Flag winners are Amroth, Broadhaven Central, Coppet Hall, Dale, Lydstep, Newgale, Tenby North, Tenby South, Castle Beach Tenby, Whitesands and Saundersfoot whilst those awarded the Green Coast Award are Abereiddy, Barafundle, Broadhaven South, Cwm yr Eglwys, Druidstone Haven, Freshwater East, Marloes, Martin’s Haven, Penally, Priory Bay Caldey Island, West Dale.
