Excitement is building for the return later in the year of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series to Pembrokeshire.
Abereiddy’s iconic Blue Lagoon was the first British location to host the Cliff Diving competition in 2012 and the series returned to Pembrokeshire in 2013. The Blue Lagoon will once again be hosting the championships on 10th & 11th September 2016 with competitors leaping from platforms suspended 20-27 meters above the lagoon.
In a British first for the competition, Abereiddi will play host to both the men’s and women’s rounds, with reigning world champions Gary Hunt and Rachelle Simpson looking to defend their titles.
The Blue Lagoon is the sixth stop of the series, with the professional divers also visiting Texas (USA), Copenhagen (Denmark), Azores (Portugal), La Rochelle (France), Polignano a Mare (Italy), Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sandanbeki (Japan) and Dubai (UAE).
5,000 spectator tickets for the event will be released this summer via Red Bull and the National Trust
