A major new tv series is being filmed at Carew Castle, Pembrokeshire.
The Sky 1 production of “Discovery of Witches”, an adaption of the best selling novel by Deborah Harkness, is a contemporary love story set against the backdrop of Oxford academia but in a world where witches and vampires live and work unseen. The series stars Matthew Goode of Downton Abbey and Teresa Palmer of Hacksaw Ridge. She described filming at Carew as “windy, freezing but crazy beautiful and we loved it. The castle was incredible and we were all blown away by it and the surroundings (and the wind)”.
Pembrokeshire is a favourite for film and tv shoots due to its stunning scenary. Other projects, amongst many others, filmed here recently have been “Me Before You” and “Bad Education” in Pembroke, “Their Finest” shot at Cresswell Quay and Porthgain, “Robin Hood” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” at Freshwater West and “Snow White and the Huntsman” at Marloes.
