The prestigious, Sawday’s Travel Guide has announced the winner of its best pub in England and Wales Award for 2018.
The Stackpole Inn in Pembrokeshire was declared the best overall pub in its 2018/19 awards, which also handed out gongs for best pub with rooms, best pub for seasonal and organic produce, best community pub, favourite newcomer and most authentic pub.
The Sawday’s judges were simply bowled over by this stunning pub.
They said that it’s ‘a dreamy Pembrokeshire inn just a short walk from glorious Barafundle Bay’ and added that ‘The food is tasty, the bedrooms are super, kids and dogs are welcomed. You won’t want to leave and it really wasn’t difficult to choose our best all-rounder.’
The Stackpole Inn is on Pembrokeshire Farm B&B’s list of recommended places to eat whilst staying with us and also features in one of our recommended days out:
Drive to Stackpole Quay and walk over the cliffs to the glorious Barafundle Bay, frequently named as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Explore the Stackpole estate and then back to Stackpole Quay for lunch at the Boathouse Tearoom. In the afternoon visit the incredible 6th century hermit’s chapel, St Govans, set into the cliff face and then enjoy a cup of tea at Ye Olde Worlde Café, which opened in the 1920s. Enjoy a drink and dinner at The Stackpole Arms on your way back to Pembrokeshire Farm B & B at Caermaenau Fawr.
